More about mckaia ryberg photography

Every photographer begins their journey a little differently. I started mine as a college freshman in a teeny little dorm with a $600 camera set (lens included) that I bought off Amazon on a special deal. This was the biggest purchase I had made in my life, at this point, and I spent months saving. I bought the camera to make a little side money, to maybe document my life as a new chapter opened, but I never expected to feel such a draw to what has become a lifestyle.

I booked a few family sessions, a couple senior and engagement sessions and then landed my first wedding. It took about 20 minutes into that experience to realize that this, is what I want my weekends to look like. There's something special about walking into the bride's "getting ready" space and unpacking all my gear to the sound of the gals laughing and some serious 2000's jams turned on. I fell in love with capturing every moment of that wedding day and have been lucky to experience that same excitement at every wedding, to date.

I believe that every photo session is the opportunity to make a connection over something that my client's can hold onto forever. I love giving the gift of time, and know how precious the memories are that I am so blessed to capture. If I could describe my work in one word it would be: authentic. It's not just the photographer that makes a great photo and it's not just the client, the outfit, the scenery or the lighting. It's a combination of great elements that I'm always striving to provide.

Whatever your story is.... I know it's worth hearing and worth documenting. In my opinion, there will never be anything more precious then the ability to freeze time, which is why I do what I do - and love it! I'm a big believer that relationships matter, so I hope that if you have had an uncomfortable or bad experience with photography in the past, you'll give it another shot... whether with me or not... because you deserve time that will last!

“Our wedding day was very stressful since there was a blizzard the night before making the original schedule we had talked about not go as planned. Despite all the chaos (and the freezing MN cold), McKaia kept everything running smoothly and made it a fun experience for everyone.”
